Charnock Richard came to Eagley last night and went away with all 3 points.
Both teams were battling hard from the start with chances made at both ends. But after some strong Charnock pressure, a looping loose ball went over the Eagles keeper Billy Worthington and found the back of the net for 1 nil. Then just before half time another cross into the box glanced the head of Eagley’s Jack Horan for an own goal and 2 nil.
After the break, Eagley tried and nearly found the net but just couldn’t make it happen. Then a good ball Into the Eagley goal mouth found the strong head of Charnock’s Carl Grimshaw for 3 nil. This seem to stir the Eagles and after good work the ball fell to the feet of midfielder Aaron Longley, who’s great 25 yard strike found the top corner giving the Charnock keeper no chance and 3-1.
But the Eagles huffed and puffed and a strong Charnock defence saw out the game for the victory, leaving the Eagles still looking for the elusive first win.
