Reserves Make It Three From Three!

After the 1st Team’s game at Southport Hesketh was postponed, it was up to the reserves to fly the Eagley flag which they did at home in style against neighbours Mill Hill St Peters.

Managers Oli Clarke and Craig Coote, went for a good mix of youth and experience for the West Lancs league 2 clash and after 7 minutes it paid off as Taylor Jones put the Eagles in front with a well taken goal.  Conor Close was then forced off with a hamstring injury but it did not deter the Eagles as  midfielder Mike Dawson found the net again for 2 nil to ultimately seal the game for the Dunscar side. The visitors made a game of it in the second half as they pressed the Eagles, but the defence stayed strong and held out for 2 nil and the 3 points, giving the new management duo a 100% record in their first three games in charge.

After the game a jubilant manager Oli Clarke said ‘ It was a very good win today against a side doing well in the league. Our  team had a real mix of youth and experience to it today which is something that the management team is trying to implement at the club. We have a lot of talented under 16’s players coming through who are now showing that they are more than capable of playing senior football here which is great!’
