Eagley Fc have appointed new reserve team management ‘In -house’ with Craig Coote and Oliver Clarke taking on the role.
The central midfielder and striker respectively, had planned on working together next season but as this vacancy has arisen now they felt the opportunity was too good a chance to miss and especially at Eagley!
With Caretaker Manager (and Eagley under 14’s manager) Neil Pickup’s circumstances changing he felt he was unable to continue managing the reserves, and we wish to thank him for all his effort and commitment.
The duo of Craig and Oli are no novices to coaching, with both being level 2 coaches already and a wealth of footballing experience behind them. Craig a former team mate of manager Whaley at Bury FC was where he began, until moving on to unibond side Mossley. He then played a good standard of local football which included, Woodley, Trafford, and Ramsbottom Utd until a broken ankle saw him out of the game for two seasons. That’s when he came to Eagley to re join his old team mate and has now jumped at the new challenge to manage the reserves. As for Oli, his career has taken him down the teaching path but prior to University also played to a good standard at Barrow, Rossendale, and Atherton Colls. After Uni he then played at AFC Bury in the Manchester Premier League before coming to join us at Eagley.
So we wish the lads all the best in their new role starting with a good local game versus CMB away on Saturday with a 2pm kick off. The first team entertain Vickerstown which is a massive game with them sitting in 14th place and just 2 points below the Eagles. Please show your support in which ever game you can attend.
