The influential central defender Danny Swailes has agreed to a player/coaching role down at Eagley much to the delight of everyone concerned at the club.
Danny played the latter end of the season and made a massive difference to steadying the Eagles defence, forging a great pairing with Simon Neary who too has been a rock at the back.
The 36 yr old has a wealth of experience to offer, with some of his previous teams being, Bury, MK Dons, and Stockport County but similarly to manager Whaley, a leg injury curtailed his professional career but Danny still has a lot to offer and everyone is delighted this will be at Eagley.
We caught up with Danny to chat about his signing; ‘ Yes Si and me go back a long way to our Bury days, and when he asked me to come down again I thought why not. Si and Scott are trying to do things the right way at the club which I like, and I’ve always been fond of Eagley as I used play down here as a kid, and if I can help out too coaching I will.’
Danny makes it 4 new signings this week, with the squad now starting to take shape.
More to follow on the squad next week.
