Yet again the first team conceded some sloppy goals right from the off and by 25 minutes found themselves three down!
That was the score at half time and Whaley decided to change the formation and also bring himself into the game. They then started to play, and after some good work Jack Horan got one back. They then began to get a foothold in the game, and after Whaley hit the post Horan was there to follow it up for his second. The Eagles kept pushing but just couldn’t get the equaliser before time ran out, and they lost 3.2.
Meanwhile the reserves under the new manager Scott Derbyshire got a well earned point against Division 1 table toppers Garstang.
Eagley went 1 up with Andy Lindley firing from the spot, but they couldn’t hold on and conceded to finish at 1.1. But on the whole a solid performance for a well earned draw.
Also worthy of note was a good performance from centre back Dave Fairhurst, but this week was as stand in keeper.
